Serving Communities Since 1992 — About Us
Care That Lasts Longer
Than the Mission.
We believe the most powerful medicine is partnership.
The Humanitarian Aid Relief Team (HART) is a community of volunteers and medical professionals united by one purpose: improving lives through healthcare. From our home in Lindon, Utah and our office in Accra, Ghana, we work hand in hand with local leaders and partner organizations to bring surgical care, education, and lasting health infrastructure to communities that need it most.
- ✓Missions designed with local leaders — never imposed from outside
- ✓Volunteer surgeons, nurses, and professionals across four specialties
- ✓Training and supplies that stay long after the team flies home
What We Do
Our Approach
Three programs, one goal: healthcare that communities can carry forward on their own.
Surgical Missions
Volunteer surgical teams work side by side with local healthcare professionals — expanding access to safe surgery, from cleft lip and palate repair to burn contracture release, and leaving stronger clinical teams behind.
Learn More →Educational Outreach
HART volunteers and local partners lead health, hygiene, and awareness sessions that empower communities to manage their own health with confidence.
Learn More →Sustainable Healthcare
Integrated clinics in underserved areas deliver care beyond surgery — primary care, maternal and child health, vaccinations, and more, year after year.

Our Mission to
Ghana 2025
This year, HART travels to the Bono-Ahafo Region of Ghana — to Goaso and Kukoum — bringing comprehensive surgical and primary care to communities with urgent, unmet medical needs.
Mobile clinics will carry care further into rural communities including Agyrekrom and Beposo, while our volunteers train the next generation of Ghanaian providers at regional nursing colleges and donate essential medical supplies.

Voices from the Field
Why We Serve
From the volunteers, partners, and communities who make every mission possible.
“My first mission changed how I practice medicine. Working alongside the local surgical team in Goaso, we weren't just performing procedures — we were trading skills both directions. I came home a better nurse than I left.”
“What sets HART apart is that they ask first. They sat with our community leaders, listened to what our clinics actually needed, and built the mission around that. The equipment and training they left are still serving us today.”
“The mobile clinic reached villages that hadn't seen a doctor in years. Watching families walk away with real care, real medicine, and a follow-up plan — that's why I keep coming back mission after mission.”
“As a nursing student, the clinical training HART provided was invaluable. They didn't just demonstrate — they taught, answered questions, and donated the supplies for us to keep practicing after they left.”
“I've supported HART for years because every dollar visibly turns into care. Surgery for a child, supplies for a clinic, training for a nurse — you can see exactly where your giving goes.”
